Subscribing to someone on OnlyFans is anonymous in most practical ways that matter. Creators see your display name and profile picture - that's it. But "anonymous" means different things to different people, so here's exactly what is and isn't visible when you subscribe.
What creators can see when you subscribe
When you subscribe to a creator's OnlyFans page, they receive a notification that a new subscriber has joined. That notification includes your display name and profile picture.
That's all. They cannot see your real name, your email address, your location, your billing information, or which other creators you follow. Your financial details go through OnlyFans's payment processor and never reach the creator.
If you message a creator, they see the same information: your display name and profile picture. Nothing more.
What "display name" means in practice
Your display name on OnlyFans is whatever username you set when you created your account. It does not have to be your real name. Most people use a pseudonym, a nickname, or something completely random.
If you signed up using your actual name as your username, creators will see that. But if you used a pseudonym, they see only the pseudonym. They have no way to connect that username to your real identity.
This is easy to fix if you've already signed up with your real name. Go to your profile settings and change your display name to something that doesn't identify you.
Profile pictures
Same logic applies to your profile picture. If you uploaded a photo of yourself, creators see that photo. If you left it blank or used a generic avatar, they see that instead.
There's no requirement to upload a real photo. A lot of subscribers use the default avatar or something completely generic.
What about your bank statement
The charge on your bank or card statement shows as "OnlyFans" or "OF". No creator name appears, and there's no description of what the subscription is for. Your bank sees the merchant name but not the creator's name.
If you want to keep OnlyFans off your main bank statement entirely, use a prepaid card or virtual card. The charge still shows as "OnlyFans" on that card's statement, but your primary bank account never sees it at all. Our guide on OnlyFans payment methods covers your options in detail.
Can other subscribers see who you follow?
No. Your subscription list is completely private. Other users on the platform cannot see which creators you're subscribed to. Creators can see their own subscriber list, but they can't see who else you follow.
What OnlyFans itself knows
OnlyFans collects your email address, payment information, and IP address when you sign up. They use this to run the platform and for legal compliance. They don't share personal subscriber data with creators.
If you want to minimise what OnlyFans has on you: use a separate email address, a prepaid or virtual card, and don't fill in your profile with real information.
Email privacy
OnlyFans sends emails to the address you registered with. If that's a personal email address, those emails will land in your regular inbox. Using a separate email account for OnlyFans keeps their notifications away from your main account and means there's no OnlyFans-related email in your regular inbox.
Creating a secondary Gmail or any other free email account takes about 2 minutes and is the simplest way to fully separate your OnlyFans activity.
The short answer
For practical purposes, yes - OnlyFans is anonymous for subscribers as long as you use a pseudonym as your display name, a generic or blank profile picture, and optionally a separate email and prepaid card. Creators see a username, not a person.

Frequently asked questions
Can a creator find out who I really am?
Not through OnlyFans itself. They see your display name and profile picture - nothing else. If your display name is your real name or your profile picture is identifiable, they could potentially recognise you, but only based on information you chose to put in your account.
Does OnlyFans show my location to creators?
No. Creators cannot see your location, IP address, or any geographic information about you.
Can I subscribe anonymously even if I pay by card?
Yes. The payment is processed by OnlyFans, not the creator. Creators never see any payment information. Your card details go to OnlyFans's payment processor, and creators just receive a notification that a subscriber joined.
What if I accidentally used my real name?
Change it. Go to your profile settings on OnlyFans and update your display name to a pseudonym. Creators who already subscribed or messaged you will see your new name going forward.
Can creators contact me outside of OnlyFans?
Only if you give them your contact information voluntarily. Creators can only message you through the OnlyFans platform itself. They have no access to your email address or any other contact details.
Is subscribing to a free OnlyFans account anonymous too?
Yes. Free accounts work the same way. Creators see your display name and profile picture when you subscribe, regardless of whether the account is free or paid.
